Warmblood Stud

With the breeding season over with pretty good results all round it is time to start looking forward to new arrivals!

Our own mares are both in foal to Fidertanz. Tarwin Grove Wisteria Lane is due in early December and her mother Hollingrove Alisa is due in late January. We were going to use Rosentanz for Alisa but due to the late timing in the season we opted to go with the proven semen of Fidertanz.

Alisa’s mother- Hollingrove Chandon owned and bred by Bruce and Debbie Williams of Hollingrove Warmblood Stud is also in foal to Fidertanz. Three generations all in foal to the same stallion! We are all excited to see how similar they are.

We had a shocking blow this season losing our Sandro Hit colt at 7 weeks old to snake bite. We have left Santoro on our youngstock page as we were so pleased with him. It always seems to happen to the best. Hollingrove Alisa will definitely be rebred to Sandro Hit at some stage as he really was a superb foal. As a result of this loss Tarwin Grove Spitfire and Tarwin Grove Roslau are to be retained as future riding horses at the stud and are currently off the market.

Hollingrove Chantilly will be returned to the broodmare band when these youngsters are of riding age. We would like to have two of her- one as a broodmare and one as a riding horse! Maybe embryo transfer could be an option. After a year and a half off due to motherhood she returned to the competition arena and had a win, then unfortunately sustained a soft tissue injury so she is currently having some time off. We may even be tempted to breed her again this season as her colt Spitfire has certainly generated a lot of interest.

Tarwin Grove Sydney has been sold to a lovely family in NSW. Lauren, who will ride him is currently on the eventing squad in NSW. He could not have found a better home in every respect.

Our most exciting news has to be the safe arrival of Mareille, our Samarant/Florestan/Mon Amour filly from Germany. She has certainly been worth the wait exceeding all our expectations. She is a perfect example of modern dressage breeding having magnificent athletic movement, great conformation and a bright cooperative temperament.

We feel very lucky to have her and excited about breeding with her down the track. Photos will follow shortly.
